SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2012
8:00 am – 4:00 pm at Kennesaw State University
Hosted by the Center for Sustainable Journalism and CSJ’s journalism project, JJIE.org.
It’s hard to ignore the enormous impact social media has had on the world. At SoCon12, we are going to explore these changes.
We listened to your feedback, and we’re adding a third breakout session to this year’s program. Each session will be themed broadly in the following ways: Business, World, Relationships. Each speaker or panel will present ways that social media has transformed society in one of those 3 areas.
We are very excited to announce the SoCon12 Saturday keynote speaker will be Steve Rubel, EVP/Global Strategy and Insights, Edelman. Steve is EVP/Global Strategy and Insights for Edelman – the world’s largest independent public relations firm. In this role, Rubel studies the future of media and works across the firm’s practices and geographies to help clients unify their communications strategies across traditional, emerging, owned and social channels. His keynote topic will be Transmedia Storytelling.
SoCon12 Saturday will also feature three breakout sessions with dozens of presentations for you to choose from and a networking lunch for all SoCon12 speakers and attendees. In SoCon tradition, we will have plenty of opportunities throughout the day for networking. For those of you who have attended past SoCon events, you know that this is one of the highlights of the experience.
We are busy planning an awesome 1.5 days of learning and networking for SoCon12, so check back to the site regularly for updates. Also, give us a follow on Twitter to stay closely connected.
